Gentlemen, Well, winter has seemingly struck with a vengeance. As I write this we have 2 inches of fresh snow on the ground, and we are expected to get 2 -3 more inches today. I’m grateful to a mild Dec and January. After all it is winter time in Michigan, and February is holding true to this pattern. I’m just hoping we are not getting snow this coming May! The Color Corps assisted our brother Knights at three events in February: There were Corporate Communions at Old St Pat’s and at St John the Baptist Churches. We also joined with approx. 25 brother Color Corpsmen from the Diocese of Lansing to assist at Mass with Bishop Boyea at the men’s Catholic conference which was held at the Oosterbahn Field House on the campus of the Univ of Michigan. As usual, the conference featured many inspirational speakers, and seeing approx. 2,000 catholic men gathered together was, in itself, inspirational. A big thank you to all the Color Corpsmen who assisted in all of these events. As I write this on Ash Wednesday, I feel inspired by my attendance at the men’s conference as well as my attendance at the parish mission held last Sunday at St Mary Church in Chelsea. Sheri Wohlfert was a fantastic speaker who related many ways we can find God doing joyful, blessed, amazing things in the middle of our humdrum lives. In any event, I hope you all have a blessed Lent, that you are drawn closer to the many graces our Lord wants to impart to you, and are inspired to love your neighbor in any way that presents itself to you. We have no scheduled events for the month of March. Blessings, Gary, CCCommander
